Actually, Ki is short for "binary kilo". Bytes (B) or bits (b) is still
the uom. I'm really, really against forcing users to have to learn about
the difference between Kb (kilobit, used to measure network bandwidth),
KiB (binary kilobyte, used to measure HDD's from the 80's), and KB
(non-binary kilobyte, used to measure disk capacity when talking to
disk vendors.....)

Otoh, It can probably be gleaned from context in most of the cases.
