That release is +4 years old. You should be very careful about changes
in plugins behavior. Reading --help of the plugins should help too...

As Andreas pointed out you probably didn't pasted the output correctly...

AFAIK a device used to work in a very distant past, but as --help says
- -p wants a path or partition to determine the device. On my system
trying /dev/something works but returns the device usage for /dev!
If it still doesn't work with the mount point you want to check, please
port the full output of check_disk with "-vvv" added. If you can get the
output before and after the upgrade that would be nice too.
