Can't see where this bug is, but should be fixed before the next beta:

snail $ ./check_http -H new.egg.com --onredirect=follow -u /
HTTP ok: HTTP/1.1 200 OK - 0.384 second response time |time= 0.384

Looks like if --onredirect is set to follow, then the default url is lost.
